Loving In Times Of Trouble

Loving In Times Of Trouble is a song that we wrote during the Onset sessions in 2003/2004.

Loving In Times of Trouble

Loving In Times Of Trouble was performed regularly in those days at open mic in London where we met many great friends, musicians and other artists.

Those earlier days certainly were more troublesome for us as we were working hard on our music and trying to find jobs in a city that did not have a lot to offer us at the time.

Thank goodness we always had our music and artwork to work on in those times.  All of the music recording sessions we’ve jammed out has lead to a great catalog of songs which we really enjoy sharing with you.

We are working hard on producing a new album.   The latest song to be sent in for mixing is called We Were Where We Were.  This is the seventh song we’ve produced for the project.  To keep up to date with some of the progress please check back at marcelg.ca frequently, or subscribe to our feed.

Enjoy the video and please feel free to comment below and I’ll be sure to get back to you.

Loving In Times Of Trouble

Performed October 29, 2015

Written by Gelinas/Torrington

Earthing come aboard
the aliens await us
I’ve been told
with tentacles uncurled

Don’t be scared
there’s more justice
for young and old
in their world

For I have learned
patience and trust
they’re far ahead of us
at least in terms of Loving In Times Of Trouble

And when we arrive to clean water let us never pollute it again
And when we arrive to untouched forests let us never burn them again
And when we arrive to pleasant people let us never corrupt them again

For loving in times of trouble is the only way to judge
ourselves worth of freedom from each others greed and lust

For loving in times of trouble is the only way to judge
ourselves worth of freedom from each others greed and lust

For loving in times of trouble is the only way to judge
ourselves worth of freedom from each others greed and lust

For loving in times of trouble is the only way to judge
ourselves worth of freedom from each others greed and lust

  1. Hi Marcel,

I love the lyrics to this song. Reminds us that there is redemption in love especially when it’s hard to love. It’s about new beginnings and not taking what we have for granted. Makes me wonder what was going on in your world when it was written. Thanks for sharing this beautiful song.

    • Hi Sheila,

Thanks so much! Torrington and I were living in a world where money was very tight and jobs were scarce. On the other side socializing (in real life) was huge. Networking with new people was at an all time high for us despite the times we were going through. It was really uplifting.

When we decided to write the song it naturally led to something that could reflect on the global scale. It is interesting that we included nature in this song as unbeknownst to us we would write an entire album of River Songs in 2008 ; ) We will share some of those ones too in the future. Feel free to subscribe if you want to hear some more songs.

      Cheers,

      Marcel

  2. Loving in times of trouble feels very on point in todays world of trouble. Very nice lyrics my friend it has a very poetic touch and I like that. Thanks for creating good music for the people and I hope you continue doing that. Let us hope that people listen to the words and give love in times of trouble cause it is those times it is most needed/John

    • Hi John,

I agree with you one hundred percent on that. We will need to share the love with those around us when troublesome times come and go throughout life.

Torrington is an amazing lyricist and I’m so fortunate to be working with him in our song writing duo.

      Cheers,

      Marcel

  3. Hi, Loving in Times if Trouble is a lovely song. Being a music lover, I am always amazed at talented song writers and entertainers. It seems to me that writing content for songs would be as difficult as writing content for a website. Nicely done.

I really enjoyed your song and reading the lyrics.
    All the best,
    Angela

    • Thanks Angela,

I’m so glad you enjoyed the song. We love creating and have been doing it for quite some time before we realized we could be creating content for the online world.

We look forward to continuing with this as we move forward! 🙂

      Cheers,

      Marcel
